Giving Back

I can’t give back if I have nothing to give.

I was stuck in this quandary for many years. I have always felt a deep calling to help others and be of service, but my over-giving was leaving me depleted and burned out, with nothing left to give.

So I found a new way of giving, and with it, invented a new word. Soultruism. Where altruism is showing unselfish concern for the welfare of others, SOULtruism is the practice of being true to myself, honoring my soul, so that I am able to show up and do the good work I am meant to do in this world to be of service and give back to others.

Through Soul Truth coaching, I am able to live my life soultruistically and give back to the world. A portion of every dollar I make will be donated to organizations dedicated to empowering women and increasing economic opportunity to improve lives.

There are many amazing organizations doing critically important work in the world, organizations like Kiva and Opportunity International and Global Partnerships and MYC4. These organizations raise socially minded capital to expand options and opportunities for people living in poverty, and offer micro-financing, job training and critical services that help families earn a living and improve their lives. They reach people that are traditionally left behind and provides them with resources and support to become financially self-sufficient.

And the cool thing is that while the money I contribute is technically a loan, I can perpetually relend it every time it is repaid, allowing my soultruistic gift to make a difference exponentially. I can also follow the work of the women I support, and witness their growth and success.
